installation, work in progress
The meeting of air currents is a space for sharing, but also for closure. By developing an in situ installation inspired by Schlieren photography, I seek to question the moment of encounter, but also the increasingly important and compartmentalized control of airspace (Hsuan S. Hsu). Derived from fluid theory and invented by German physicist August Toepler, Schlieren photography is a little-known technique that allows air flows in a given space and around objects to be visualized. At the 15 Beautreillis gallery, I conducted initial research into the history of the process and developed a first composite installation. Moving in front of the mirrors, visitors perceived the micro-circulations of air and the disturbances around them, as well as the moment when the flows met before the “physical” encounter.
