Installation (Petri dish, medium, saliva, projector), 2025

A Place for Us breathes within the tension between intimacy and technologization.
A monumental Petri dish displays at its heart, the saliva of a queer couple. Projected on a screen, it presents the flagrant magnified meeting of their relationship. Symbiosis between two microbiota is my dream, said a scientist.
Here, substances mingle in an indecipherable microcosm of spacial politics whilst the possibility of the encounter is permanently scrutinized. A Place for Us takes on the name of 1969 eponym book by Alma Routsong, discussed today by researcher Milena Charbit in her book on Lesbian spacial tactics (Shed Publishing, 2025). Here, the modernist & oculo-centric Petri dish is rehabilitated to become a diverted vessel to exist, a space for contamination, plots and dreams in full light.
